I am proud to announce that on January 1, 2024 we will be changing our name from Management Recruiters of Fairfax, Inc. (MRF) to The Houghton Search Group. 

Our organizational entity remains the same. 

The same people.  The same process.  The same high standards.

Our competitive advantage remains the same:

  • A laser focus on the insurance brokerage community
  • A focus on the WDC and Mid-Atlantic region
  • A functional focus on account managers and producers across employee benefits, commercial lines, and private client

The only thing that will change is the name and some new marketing and branding strategies that will unfold during 2024.

We plan to take our high level of service to our clients and candidates to the next level.

Here is a sneak preview of how we will continue to provide high-level service to the Mid-Atlantic insurance community in 2024 and beyond:

Social Media:  We will continue to provide a social media presence to the local insurance community in the form of  Rob’s Rants (published on LinkedIn every Friday morning), The One-Minute Bullet, and our bi-weekly newsletter Bi-Weekly Newsletter

Based on your feedback, an effort will be made to create more social media content that is Mid-Atlantic focused for the insurance brokerage community.

Rob’s Rants:  Our Friday blog will focus more specifically on the Mid-Atlantic insurance brokerage community in the areas of career development, client hiring strategies, and overall market conditions and competitive landscape in the WDC insurance community.

One-Minute Bullet Videos:  We will continue to publish and release these short videos on LinkedIn that highlight unadvertised urgent job positions relating to account managers and producers across commercial lines, employee benefits, and private client personal lines.  We will also use this platform to make announcements regarding the release of our semi-annual WDC insurance salary reports and annual employee satisfaction reports.

Information Dissemination: We will continue to disseminate our semi-annual insurance salary reports and annual employee satisfaction reports to the local insurance community via social media channels including LinkedIn, direct email, and on our website.  We will also keep everyone up to date on the latest and greatest insurance mergers and acquisitions as well affecting the WDC region.

Direct Insurance Community Outreach:  I will be one of the featured speakers at the June 2024 IIAV Convention to be held in Virginia Beach.  I will be providing my thoughts on attracting, developing, and retaining top insurance producer talent in the Mid-Atlantic region.

Career Coaching:  We will continue to make our unique career coaching services available to qualified candidates at no charge.

Client Relations:  We will continue to provide top talented candidates to our client hiring authorities within 30 days of search commencement.

Candidate Relations:  We will continue to represent only the ‘best of the best’ insurance brokerage clients in the Mid-Atlantic region that provide a human-centric work environment for their employees.  We represent only those clients who provide a family-friendly environment, remote/hybrid work environments, and those who empower, enable, and reward their employees on a regular basis.  If any client fails to meet these standards, I promise we will not represent them.

I want to take this opportunity to thank those candidates and clients alike out there who have contributed to our growth in the WDC region since 2003.  We hope the next twenty years is as fun as the last twenty have been!
